After three years in 1997-1999 with first generation Indycar chassis (IR-7, IR-8 and IR-9), Dallara introduced a new second generation model chassis for the 2000 season, named the IR-00. In the 2000 season American Mark Dismore drove #28 Dallara for Kelly Racing, partnering Scott Sharp. Dismore finished 2nd at Las Vegas Speedway and was stable point scorer in other races, which led to his 5th place in the final season standings, ahead of his teammate Sharp, who was 7th.
