Team Penske entered four Chevrolet-powered cars for the full schedule in the 2021 NTT IndyCar Series – for Josef Newgarden, Will Power, Simon Pagenaud, and rookie Scott McLaughlin. Newgarden drove the car #2 in Hitachi black-and-white livery. He won two rounds of the season – the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio and Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at Gateway. Newgarden added four more 2nd place finishes to his score and was runner-up in final championship standings.
