Christian Lundggard is the son of European Rally Champion Henrik Lundgaard. After his European experience completed by two non-impressive seasons (2020 and 2021) in FIA Formula 2 Championship, Lundgaard made his IndyCar debut at Indianapolis in August 2021 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. In 2022 he joined the team with a multi-year IndyCar deal. Lungaard scored 2nd place at Indianapolis Road Course as his best result and finished the season 14th with 323 points. He won the Rookie of The Year, beating his closest rookie rival David Malukas by 18 points.
