Company was founded by Ferninand de Vazelles in the 1930 in the western Paris suburb of Nanterre, France. In 1950s-70s Solido was one of the leaders in diecast model cars industry. Majorette took over Solido in 1980 and began issuing Solido models under the brand Verem. The company shuttered its Oulins, France, factory in 2006, transferring production duties to China. After several perturbations in 2010 Solido brand became the part of Simba Dickie Group, German toy manufacturer.
