The second advent of Alfa Romeo to Grand Prix motor racing in 1979-1985 started with 177 type, but at Italian team’s home Grand Prix in Monza new 179 made its debut. Bruno Giacomelli and Vittorio Brambilla were Autodelta team drivers this year. Giacomelli, whose car is the prototype of this scale model, retired in both races in 1979 behind the wheel of 179. This simple but elegant contemporary scale model was produced by Italian brand Yaxon.
