Tyrrell 023 used by Nokia Tyrrell Yamaha team in 1995 Formula One season was designed by Harvey Postlethwaite and Mike Gascoin. The car featured a new hydraulic-controlled front suspension system, known as “Hydrolink”, which Tyrrell had been testing since February 1995. The 023 was powered by Yamaha OX10C 3.0 V10 engine which had been used the previous season. Despite initial hopes of the team based on progress of the previous year, 023 turned out to be an unsuccessful construction. Innovative “Hydrolink” was unreliable and the team rejected in the mid-season. Ukyo Katayama retired in 12 out of 16 his starts and only Mika Salo corrected slightly the disappointments of the team by his 3 finishes in top 6.
