March 701 was the first F1 design by March Engineering. Despite Jackie Stewart has described the car as “the most difficult F1 car I drove”, he was able to achieve the maiden victory for the constructor in its second Championship’ race at 1970 Spanish GP in Jarama. March 701 throughout 1970 season was used by many entrants, including the March works team, Ken Tyrrell Racing Organization and STP Corporation. Swiss driver Jo Siffert in 1970 was March Engineering works driver, but failed to score a single point in the championship finishing best on 7th position at Belgian Grand Prix.
