The 026 was the last car by famous Tyrrell Formula One team. Ken Tyrrell had sold the team to British American Racing prior the first race of the 1998 season and immediately left the team. The car designed by Harvey Postlethwaite for whom it was also his last F1 car competed in the Championship. After 1998 Harvey left to join newborn Honda F1 Project as technical director. Tyrrell drivers in 1998 season were Brazilian Riccardo Rosset and Japanese rookie Toranosuke Takagi. Team’s results of the season were completely disappointing. Rosset finished just 4 Grand Prix out of 16 races with the 8th place in Canada as best finishing position. The rest was number of DNF and DNQs. Takagi reached the checkered flag 8 times with 8 retirements. The sad end of the long history of the great team.
