The FW22 designed by Gavin Fisher as a chief designer and Geoff Willis as a chief aerodymanicist, was the first Williams car powered by BMW engine, the partnership lasted for the next five seasons. Team’s number one was Ralf Schumacher who continued to race with the Williams from the previous year. His teammate 20-years old Jenson Button was the newcomer and Britain’s youngest ever Formula One driver. His best result was fourth position in the German Grand Prix, but he had collected a lot of 5th and 6th places and scored 12 points by the end of the season – an amount which put him to 8th place of the drivers’ Championship in his debut F1 season.
