In 1995 Pacific Grand Prix had merged with Team Lotus and was renamed as Pacific Team Lotus. New car, PR02 was designed by Frank Coppuck, and obsolete Ilmor engines had been replaced by Ford ED V8. The drivers were Andrea Montermini and team shareholder Bertrand Gachot. In the mid-season the latter vacated his seat to paydrivers Giovanni Lavaggi and Jean-Denis Delertaz, but when their money was over, Gachot returned in the cockpit of PR02 and scored the 8th place in Australia, repeating team’s best result achieved previously by Montermini in German Grand Prix. At the end of the 1995 season, the team owner Keith Wiggins withdrew from Formula One and decided went back to Formula 3000.
