The M23D was the final evolution of M23 model raced from 1973. James Hunt drove this car to the victory in the 1976 Driver’s Championship in the very dramatic and controversial season. Hunt collected 6 Grand Prix wins on his way to the title which was decided in the very last race in Japan when Niki Lauda withdrew after few laps due to dangerous wet conditions of the circuit.
