





FW18 designed by Adrian Newey and Patrick Head was the champion’s vehicle of the 1996 Formula One season. The car was based on FW17 from 1995 with lowered centre of gravity and significantly improved aerodynamics. The power unit was Renault RS8 3-litre V10 engine. The FW18 was driven by Damon Hill and F1 rookie Jacques Villeneuve. Hill fully dominated the season with 8 victories in 16 Grand Prix. Damon Hill won the Drivers’ Championship title, making him the first son of a World Champion to become a Champion himself.
