M195B was the upgraded version of M195 from the 1995 season. The only visible difference was the higher cockpit sides developed according new rules on driver safety. The car was used throughout the whole 1996 season with Giancarlo Fisichella and Pedro Lamy as works drivers. At the start of the 1996 Formula 1 season, Marques raced twice for Minardi, in Brazil and Argentina as temporary replacement for Fisichella. The Brazilian retired in both races but was given other chances in 1997 and 2001 in the Minardi Team but never completed a full season.
