1993 Benetton B193B Schumacher

The car was driven by Michael Schumacher and Riccardo Patrese in the 1993 Formula One season. The B193 was developed by Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne on the basic design of B192. The car featured many advanced technological developments – active suspension,  semi-automatic transmission and traction control  (from the Monaco Grand Prix onwards). The car was powered by Ford HBA7 (in first two races of the season,raced as B193A) / HBA8 (since European Grand Prix, 3rd round of the Championship) V8 engine. Benetton, despite cannot compete with the dominating Williams FW15C, was one of the fastest and most reliable cars of the season. The team was 3rd in the Constructors standings behind Williams and McLaren. Michael Schumacher’s victory in  Portuguese Grand Prix and many podium finishes put him on the 4rd place in the final Driver’s Championship standings. Patrese also regularly was in points and finished the Championship on 5th place.
