The FW07 in the 07B specification brought 1980 drivers’ (with Alan Jones) and constructors’ titles to Williams team. Meanwhile the car in its original variant presented in 1979 (FW07) was also available for RAM and Brands Hatch Racing private teams. RAM racing formed in 1975 by Mike Ralph and John Macdonald, entered FW07 for the second half of the 1980 season with several drivers. American Kevin Cogan drove a rainbow Jeans sponsored RAM Williams in the 1980 Canadian Grand Prix, but failed to qualify, suffering the same result driving for Tyrrell at the 1981 US GP West. Cogan then moved to Indy cars where he raced in 1981 – 1993 scoring a single victory at Phoenix International raceway in 1986.
