The 248F1 was the Ferrari car for the 2006 Formula One Championship. The car was an update of the previous year’s F2005. The chief designer of the models was Aldo Costa with Rory Byrne acting as a consultant. Technical director of the team Ross Brawn and head of aerodynamics John Illey were also involved. The 2006 season was the last for Michael Schumacher in the Scuderia. Scoreing 7 victories and taking 2nd place in the Drivers’ championship Schumacher had retired after the end of the season. His teammate in 2006 was Brazilian Felipe Massa hired by Scuderia to replace Rubens Barichello. Massa spent 3 previous seasons in Sauber, and in 2006 he achieved his maiden win in Turkey and has added a victory at his home Brazilian Grand Prix, the last race of the season. The Brazilian was placed 3rd in he final Championship standings. This scale model by IXO is from “Ferrari F1 Collection”. See also the same model from the Spanish version of the “Formula 1.
