The P138 designed by Len Terry was introduced in 1968 when the car raced twice, but retired from both races due to engine failure. In 1969 Owen Racing Organization team used P138 in the first half of the season. BRM leading driver John Surtees drove the car to the 5th place in the Spanish Grand Prix at the Montjuic circuit – the best result for P138. Starting from British GP the P138 was replaced by the next model, P139.
