Grand Prix History in Scale Models

1968, Jackie Stewart, Matra, Spark

1968 Matra MS10 Stewart

The MS10 was the first Formula 1 purpose-built car by Matra. At the insistence of Ken Tyrrell, who was running Matra F2 cars in 1967, the car was powered by V8 Ford Cosworth DFV engine, while the car with original Matra V12 motor was indexed as MS11. In 1968 Matra International, a new joint venture established between Tyrrell’s own privateer team and the Matra, used MS10, and Matra Sports, the works team, raced MS11. Tyrrrel’s squad lead by Jackie Stewart was much more successful. The Scotsman took the 2nd place in the Drivers’ Championship winning 3 Grand Prix races, including USA GP at Watkins Glen which is represented by this scale model.
