





The 2008 BMW Sauber car was designed by the team lead by Christoph Zimmermann as chief designer, with the powertrain being designed by Markus Duesmann. BMW retained its driver line-up of Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica for the third season. The 2008 was the best season for the team. Both drivers were fast and able to fight for top places. The BMW Sauber’s first race victory came in the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix, with Robert Kubica’s first race win and Nick Heidfeld taking second place. For the Polish driver it was also his first win in F1. In the final Championship standing Kubica was 4th, Heidfeld 6th, and BMW Sauber took the 3rd place in the Constructor’s Championship, behind Ferrari and McLaren.
