Toyota-powered FW29 was designed by Ed Wood, Lioc Bigois, and Sam Michel as technical director of the team, and was driven by Nico Rosberg and Alex Wurz. Rosberg was in his second season in F1 while Wurz made a comeback after 5 years pause as F1 race pilot. Rosberg proved to be a faster driver, scoring frequent small points finishes and consistently outpacing Wurz. But it was Austrian who achieved the only Williams podium finish in 2007 finishing 3rd at the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix.
