The LC91 was produced by Lola cars for Larrousse Formula 1 team. Designed by Eric Broadley, the car was powered by 3.5L Ford DFR V8 engine. The Larrousse team retained the 1990 drivers line-up – Japanese Aguri Suzuki and Frenchman Éric Bernard. Suzuki drove the car to 6th position at season-opening USA Grand Prix in Phoenix, while Bernard took 6th place at the Mexican Grand Prix, the 6th round of the championship. These were the only point finishes of the unreliable LC91 which collects the number of retirements being unable to reach the finish in 31 out of 24 starts that season.
