The BT60 was the final Formula One car built for the Brabham Formula One motor racing team. It was the modification of the BT60Y designed by Sergio Rinland and Tim Densham in 1991. For 1992 the Yamaha OX99 V12 engine was replaced by Judd GV V10. The cars were driven by Eric van de Poele from Belgium and Italian rookie Giovanna Amati. After van de Poele qualified 26th and last and finished 13th at the opening race in South Africa, neither car qualified for a race until round nine. Giovanna Amati, 32 years old female driver who competed in F3000 in 1987 – 1991, was around 10 second slower than pole sitter in qualifying sessions of first three rounds, and was replaced by Damon Hill after the Brazilian Grand Prix. Amati became the fifth woman Formula One driver and still (as of 2020) is the most recent female driver to have entered the Formula One World Championship.

Dear all.
I have in my collection the Brabham BT60B from the 1992 season that Hill drove having replaced Amati. The model is white and blue in colour with Hill as driver, the scale is 1:43.
Can you tell me if there have been any other models like this produced as i have never found anything like it in all the years ive had it.
Kind regards
Phill

Hi Phill
Brabham used two liveries in 1992 – white and blue in first 7 races of the season, and pink and blue starting from round 8 (French Grand Prix).
Kit of BT60B was issued by Provence Moulage with the decals for both white and blue and pink and blue versions for Hill and Amati. Minichamps released the pink and blue models of Hill and van der Poele cars (see Hill’s car im my collection here – https://formula143.org/2020/11/21/1992-brabham-bt60b-hill/)
What brand is your white and blue model?
White and blue BT60B 1:43 models is anticipated soon from Spark.

Hi there,
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
I will retrieve the model and take a look, but if I recall, the model was hand made, I dealt with a company for years called TRAX buying mini champs from them, however, this was different, they offered me the chance of this rare model as I bought as many Damon Hill racing cars I could find at that time, I have the blue and purple hand made Brabham BT60b diorama to which depicts Hill climbing into the cockpit with a laptop on the side pod. I also had made his 1991 F3000 Barclay race car that I still have possession of amongst others. I will take images of them and send them to you if I can, not sure how I can attached them on here though, but if you are interested, I send them
Some other way. I may be a little off mark with the white and blue Brabham, but I do recall TRAX telling me only four of these models had been commissioned!?
Anyhow, I’ll be back in touch
Regards
Phill

Regarding the Brabham BT60B in purple and blue, this was exclusively handmade for TRAX, the diorhama reflects Hill at the 1992 British Grand Prix at Silverstone on the grid. The White and Blue Brabham and Damons F3000 Barclay Lola T91/50 will be by the same model

Thanks for the info. I suppose that TRAX dioramas were based on Provence Moulage kits of BT60B.

I’m not sure, however, I will be looking at moving them on soon, I just need to find who would be interested in such items, I know Damon Hill wasn’t everyones cup of tea, but the models are quite unique, pretty rare too.. if you know of any specialist, id be more than happy to make contact with them.
Thank you for taking interest, I’ll certainly continue browsing you website.
