In 1970 two-times World Champion Graham Hill left the works Lotus team and moved to Rob Walker’s private team to drive the brand-new 72 which was provided to Walker as the part of the deal with Colin Chapman. Hill score few points with the older 49 before the 72C became available for the Canadian Grand Prix. The new car did not change much – Hill was not classified at Mont-Tremblant and retired in two last rounds of the championship, in USA and Mexico.
