The FW43 was the last F1 car constructed by the team under Williams family ownership. In August 2020 Williams was acquired by US investment group Dorilton Capital for €152 million. The amount includes settling the debt of the company as well and it will continue to run under the Williams name and keep its UK-base. FW43 designed by Doug McKiernan and Dave Wheater and driven by talented George Russell, who was in his second year with the team, and Canadian rookie Nicolas Latifi, was the slowest gar on the grid. The season ended with zero points and last place in the constructor’s standing. However, the forces were very unequal even within the team: Russell “took out” Latifi outright, winning 16-0 in qualification and outperforming the Canadian in the races.
