The 1993 PPG Indy Car World Series season was the 15th national championship season of American open wheel racing sanctioned by CART under the name “IndyCar”. The season consisted of 16 races and was dominated by 1992 Formula One champion Nigel Mansell. Brasilian ex – Formula 1 driver Raul Boesel raced in CART since 1985, and in 1993 he drove Lola for Dick Simon Racing. That season was his best in US open wheels, Boesel finished fifth in the 1993 series, although never winning a race.
