





The VJM09 designed under the direction of Andrew Green, was powered by Mercedes PU106C Hybrid power unit and was driven by Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Pérez, both of whom retained in the team for a third successive season. The car proved to be the most successful season in the team’s history to that point, after finishing fourth in the Constructors’ Championship with 173 points. Pérez scored his first of two podium finishes of the season at the Monaco Grand Prix, finishing third. In the European Grand Prix in Baku Pérez once again finished third, recovering from a gearbox change penalty as a result of a crash during free practice. The Mexican were placed 7th in the final standings of the season, while Hülkenberg was 9th.
