Robby Gordon raced in the CART IndyCar series since 1992. His first full season and Indy 500 start would come in 1993 with A.J. Foyt’s team. Then he raced for Walker, Hogan and Arciero-Wells teams.  For 1999, Gordon fielded his own team in the CART series with Toyota RV8D V8 turbo engine and sponsorship from Johns Manville, an American corporation based in Denver, Colorado that manufactures insulation, roofing materials, and engineered products, and from Menards, an American home improvement retail company well known for its involvement it motorsport. Gordon used Reynard 98I chassis in first four races of the season, and then switched to new Swift 010.c.  Eagle 997 and 987 were also used in several races in the final part of the season. All cars were powered by Toyota, and Gordon had little success with all his chassis as the Toyota was still sub-par in performance. Robby’s best results of the season were 8th places at Road America and Surfers Paradise with Swift and at Motegi with Reynard. After 1999 Gordon withdrew from CART altogether, switching to NASCAR and  Indy Racing League where he raced until 2004, almost exclusively at Indy 500.
