British Mike Conway who previously drove in GP2 series in 2006-2008, was signed by Dreyer & Reinbold Racing to compete in the IndyCar Series full-time in 2009. Conway struggled for consistency for the whole season, only finishing nine of the seventeen races. He was fast at times on the road courses, finishing on the podium in third at Infineon Raceway. His final Championship position was 17th, with 261 points.
