Team Menard traditionally entered only for Indy-500 in the CART Championship in 1980-90s. For 1990 race Menard entered three Buick powered cars for British Jim Crawford and Americans Gary Bettenhausen and Steve Barclay. Crawford suffered a spectacular crash during practice. He spun and hit the wall in turn one, then became airborne 10–15 feet above the ground in the south short chute. He was not seriously injured and finished 15th on race day.
