The 2017 season was an important one for Italian team because of Scuderia Ferrari’s 70th anniversary as an automotive manufacturer. The model was named Ferrari SF70H to mark the anniversary. The chassis was designed by Mattia Binotto, Simone Resta, Enrico Cardile, David Sanchez and Rory Byrne with Corrado Iotti leading the powertrain design. Like all cars of the 2017 season, it featured wider tyres, wider front and rear wings, more complex elements in front of the side pods and a larger diffuser. It has been Ferrari’s most successful Grand Prix car in the hybrid era from 2014 onwards, achieving five wins for Vettel and second place in the drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships.
