Smidt Peterson Motorsports continued to race with its primary sponsor Arrow Electronics in the 2017 season. The team’s lineup – James Hinchcliffe and Mikhail Aleshin – would remain unchanged for 2017. In April, two years after his last win, Hinchcliffe won his first race of the season at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Later he scored 3rd place finishes in Detroit (Race 1) and Toronto, and finished the season 13th with 416 points.
