The 2020 season of the IndyCar Series was shorted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ten races were cancelled, five rescheduled, and five replacement races added. The major technical change of the season was the introduction of cockpit protection, combining an Aeroscreen and the Halo used in Formula One. Canadian racing driver Dalton Kellett, who raced in Indy lights in 2013 – 19, was one of the rookies of the 2020. He was signed by A. J. Foyt Enterprises to race part-time, mostly on road and street courses in the 2020 season. Kellett was entered in eight races and scored 20th place twice at both races at Road America, as his season’s best.
