In 1975 Lotus 72 was in its 6th season. It was obvious that the car now was no match for new Ferrari or Brabham. Some modifications including wider track and redesigned suspension could not improve the situation. Lotus achieved just one podium (Jacky Ickx was second in Spain), and finished 7th in the constructors’ championship. Ronnie Peterson was 4th in Monaco and 5th in Austrian and United State Grands Prix.
