British Darren Manning won the All-Japan Formula Three championship in 1999 and competed in Formula 3000 in 2000 – 200, working also as test driver for the BAR Honda F1 team. After his chances to drive in Formula One expired, Manning moved to US and debuted in CART in 2002. He spent 2004 and 2005 seasons in IRL with Chip Ganassi team. In 2007 he drove A. J. Foyt Enterprises No. 14 car in the IRL IndyCar series, marking his return to the league after a one-year absence. He finished 13th in points in 2007, capturing 5 top-tens.
