In 1995 McLaren switched from disappointed Peugeot engines to Ilmor-Mercedes power units, so the MP4/10 was the first car from Woking carried a three-pointed star on the engine cover. The car was driven by Mark Blundell (#7) and Mika Hakkinen (#8). Blundell collected several finishes in top-6 and was 10th in the final championship standings. Hakkinen won second place twice, in Italy and Japan, and was classified 7th.
