Virgin racing was the new team for 2010 Formula One season. The team was formed by Richard Branson’s Virgin organization when Branson bought out Manor Grand Prix team. Virgin Racing was based on a three-way partnership between Manor Motorsport, which ran the cars; Wirth Research, which designed them, and Virgin which handled all the commercials. The car was designed by Nick Wirth, powered by Cosworth CA2010 V8 engine and driven by former Toyota driver Timo Glock and Brazilian ex-GP2 driver Lucas di Grassi. Glock and Di Grassi only managed two 14th-place finishes between them compared to the Hispania drivers’ three, and the team finished 12thand last in the constructors’ standings.
