Fabbrica Auto Itala SA produced a series of racing cars for the 1906 season. The 35/40 hp model was entered for the I Targa Florio race held on Grande Madonie loop circuit in Sicily. Alessandro Cagno in one of these cars won the race, and Ettore Graziani Itala took second position. Belgian baron Pierre de Caters finished 5th in another Itala.
