Australian driver Brian McGuire raced in 1974-1975 in European F5000, and in 1976-1977 in British Shellsport International F1 Series. In 1976 he ran the Willimas FW04 in British national races, and updated it for 1977 as the McGuire BM1. It was entered for only one GP, the British, when McGuire was off the pace and failed to qualify. He returned to the British series, finished 5th at Oulton Park and was killed in a practice crash in the BM1 at Brands Hatch later in 1977.
