Grand Prix History in Scale Models

1984, ATS, Gerhard Berger, Spark

1984 ATS D7 Berger

The ATS D7 designed by Gustav Brunner was the last ATS Formula One car.  The car was driven for most of the season by German Manfred Winkelhock who recorded two finishes in 14 attempts. In the summer Formula One rookie, Austrian driver Gerhard Berger, joined the team. Berger debuted at his home Austrian Grand Prix and achieved three finishes from four starts.  His and ATS team best was sixth at Monza, but that did not earn a point as ATS had been entered as one-car team at the beginning of the season. At the end of the year BMW cut off the supply of engines and the team was closed down.
