2012 Toro Rosso STR7 Ricciardo

Australian Daniel Ricciardo in 2012 moved to Toro Rosso after his debut F1 season with HRT team. His fellow Red Bull Junior Team member Jean-Eric Vergne, 2011 Toro Rosso test driver, joined him for his debut season. They drove the STR7 car, designed by Giorgio Ascanelli (Technical Director), Luca Furbatto (Chief Designer), and Nicolo Petrucci (Head of Aerodynamics), and powered by Ferrari 056 V8 engine with KERS system. Toro Rosso scored points in the first two races of the season – Ricciardo was 9th in Australia, and Vergne finished 8th in Malaysia. But then the car did not allow them to finish in the top-10 before the upgrade was fitted onto the car for the Belgian Grand Prix. Ricciardo recorded five more finishes in the points in the final third of the championship and was classified 18th with 10 points in the final drivers’ standings. Vergne collected 16 points for four 8-place finishes and was 17th in the championship.
