Robbie Buhl partnered Tony Stewart in Team Menard in 1996-97 IRL season to race car #3. Buhl scored his first win in 1997, but next season was not a success for him. Buhl recorded few point-scoring finishes, with second place at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colorado. His final position in the championship was 17th.
