British driver Steve Parrish is one of the most colorful, famous and characteristic person in the European truck racing. He competed in motorcycle racing in 1970s – 1980s, participated in 500 cc World Motorcycle Championship in 1977-85 scoring one 3rd place finish (at Nogaro in 1985), won several British titles in 500 cc and Superbike classes. After ending his motorcycle career Parrish moved to truck racing where he soon made great success. Parrish won 1987 British Open Truck Racing Championship, and became five-time European champion – in 1990, 1992 and in 1993 in Class A, and in 1994 and 1996 in Super Race Trucks category.
Since 1991 Parrish raced in Mercedes entered by David Atkins team, one of the most successful ETRC team. Atkins founded it in 1984 to race in the British Championship, and joined the ETRC since 1989 until 2007. With a total of 6 European Championship titles – and innumerable national ones – David Atkins is the most successful truck racing manager ever.
In the 1991 season Parrish drove Atego Renntruck #6 and finished the Championship 6th in the Super Trucks, with no wins.
