The way of German driver Markus Oestreich to truck racing was quite typical. Growing in karting and junior formulas, he competed in touring cars, including ETCC and DTM, before joining truck racing at a fairly mature age of 29 years old.  Oestreich focused on truck racing from 1992.  In 1992, 1993, from 1995 to 2007 and again from 2010 to 2013 he competed in the European Truck Racing Championship . In the early years he drove Mercedes-Benz trucks and was the runner-up in 1992 in Class C and in 2000 in Super Trucks.  In 2003 he finished second in the Super Race Trucks classification with a PAM 03  and achieved his greatest success in 2004 when he won the Super Race Trucks title in a VW Titan . In the following year, the VW racing truck came second again in the overall standings.

In 2010 season Oestreich drove Renault Premium truck for  MKR Technology team, a Czech racing stable established in 2009 by Czech-based German truck constructor Mario Kress. The team was based in the little village of Židovice in the north of Bohemia. The team’ first season was 2010, and MKR essentially was quasi-works Renault establishment with full factory support from Renault Trucks, supplying the engines, design and hospitality and providing the factory‘s equipment in the French town of Lyon. Two drivers represented the team in 2010 season, the Swiss Markus Bösiger and Germany’s Markus Oestreich. Together they won the title in the team ranking. In the drivers’ standings  Bösiger was runner-up and Oestreich occupied fourth place. Bösiger scored eight wins, and Oestreich won four times.
