1954 Mercedes-Benz triumphal comeback to Grand Prix racing for the first time since the Second World War started in ACF Grand Prix at Reims. Daimler Benz entered 3 streamlined W196 cars for Fangio, Kling and Hermann, and Argentinian Maestro took the first win for German factory in post-war Grand Prix racing.
