The 2000 season of Formula One was the first for Jaguar Racing. The team was formed from the purchase by Ford Stewart Grand Prix team in 1999. First Jaguar-badged chassis, R1, powered by Cosworth CR2 V10 naturally aspirated engine in hands of experienced Eddie Irvine and Johnny Herbert proved to be not as impressive as its beautiful livery. Irvine scored only 4 points, while Herbert had zero on his account and had retired from F1 at the end of the season.
