For 2003 Formula 1 season Minardi team signed F1 newcomer Justin Wilson and experienced Jos Verstappen who came back to the big circus after a year off. Paul Stoddard owned team at the beginning of the year appeared to have no sponsors, engines or tyres. Jos returned behind the wheel of F1 car at Minardi team’s opening test of the 2003 season, at Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo, on 30th January 2003. The event was overshadowed by the decision on the part of the team’s chosen supplier, Bridgestone, not to supply tyres to the Faenza squad. So Verstappen drove 2-years old PS01 chassis with Avon F3000-specification tyres.
