2001 Ferrari F1-2001 Schumacher

The 2001 Formula One season was the second year of total Ferrari dominance. New regulations mandated a higher-mounted front wing assembly to reduce downforce and re-introduction of traction and launch control systems were the key points to be adapted for the car design. The features of F1-2001 designed by Rory Byrne resulted from this were a distinctive ‘droopsnoot’ nose section and spoon-shaped front wing.  Schumacher won 9 Grand Prix in 2001 and  took his fourth Drivers’ title with a record margin of 58 points. He also broke the all-time Formula One Grand Prix wins record during the season hold previously by Alain Prost with 51 wins. Schumacher’s victory at the Belgian Grand Prix which secured the title for him marked his 52nd career win. F1-2001 was also raced in the first few Grand Prix in 2002 and Schumacher took the car’s final win at the Australian Grand Prix 2002 before it was replaced by F2002.
