Grand Prix History in Scale Models

1992, Jordan, Onyx, Stefano Modena

1992 Jordan 192 Modena

The 1992 season was the second year in F1 for Eddie  Jordan’s team. After successful debut in 1991, the hopes for the new season were quite high. However Jordan lost the contract with 1991 engine supplier Ford and signed Yamaha who supplied the power units for free. The new engine was very fresh and unreliable and led to many retirements for both Stefano Modena and Mauricio Gugelmin. Modena was able to finish 6th in the very last race of the season at the Australian Grand Prix, scoring the single point for Jordan in 1992. Both Jordan drivers, Modena and Gugelmin, couldn’t find seat in F1 for the next season and left Formula forever.
