George Russell, 2018 FIA Formula 2 Champion, signed a multi-year deal before the 2019 season to drive for the Williams team. In 2019 young British was partnered by Polish veteran Robert Kubica whose last race in F1 Grand Prix was dated back to 2010. As the Williams was a weakest car in the field, Russell’s only real rival was his teammate. Regarded as one of the most talented pilots of the new generation, Russell completely outperformed Kubica in qualifications, but scored no points while his Polish partner was able to finish 10th at the rain-affected German Grand Prix.
