





Chip Ganassi Racing discontinued the sponsorship from discount retail giants sponsor Target after 27 straight years of direct participation. Team also returned to Honda in a multiyear deal and thus discontinuing Chevrolet partnership. The team’s lineup remained unchanged for 2017. Team entered four cars for Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Charlie Kimball, and Max Chilton. The British ex-Formula One driver dominated the latter part of the 2017 Indianapolis 500, led the most laps total, but ultimately finished fourth. It was his highest finish of the season, which ended with 11th place in the championship drivers’ standings.
